Mil-Spec Military part number MIL-DTL-24643/3 is comprised of four cable-type designations: LSSHOF, LSDHOF, LSTHOF, and LSFHOF. All four cables can carry 300 volts and can be categorized by the Standard Identification Code using either Method 1 or 3. All 24643/3 cords use thermoset insulation and have an outer cross-linked polyolefin jacket (XLPO). LSSHOF cables have a single conductor and are heat and oil-resistant. LSDHOF has two conductors and is heat and oil-resistant. LSTHOF has three conductors and is heat and oil-resistant. LSFHOF has four conductors and is heat and oil-resistant. All variations are suitable for use in shipboard power supply and lighting applications that do not exceed 600V. However, they may not be used to penetrate a watertight deck or bulkhead. The Mil-DTL-24643 Mil-Spec covers cables suitable for use in shipboard, communications, instrumentation, and electronic applications.
