MYY Marine Cable Description

MYY Marine Cable is a standardized PVC-insulated and sheathed multi-core cable designed for general electrical applications in marine and offshore environments. Constructed with plain or tinned copper conductors, it provides reliable performance for power distribution, lighting, and control circuits aboard vessels and offshore installations. The PVC construction offers cost-effective electrical insulation and mechanical protection, though with inherent limitations in fire performance compared to higher-specification marine cables.

MYY Marine Cable typically operates at 300/500V ratings and maintains functionality within a -15°C to +70°C temperature range. While compliant with IEC 60332 flame retardancy requirements and marine standard IEC 60092, its PVC composition releases halogenated compounds during combustion, making it unsuitable for critical safety areas requiring LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) solutions. MYY cables are commonly employed in non-critical marine applications where extreme fire resistance isn’t mandated, offering an economical alternative to premium marine cables. .
