MGCG Marine Cable Description

MGCG Marine Cable is a high-performance marine electrical cable engineered for critical applications requiring superior fire resistance, environmental durability, and long-term reliability in harsh maritime conditions. This cable features tinned copper conductors that provide excellent corrosion resistance in saltwater environments, combined with advanced halogen-free insulation materials that maintain electrical integrity while meeting stringent fire safety standards.

MGCG Marine Cable ‘s construction includes a robust LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) sheath, ensuring minimal toxic emissions and low smoke density during fire scenarios, complying with IEC 60332-3 (flame retardancy), IEC 61034 (low smoke), and IEC 60754 (halogen-free gas emission). Designed for 450/750V or 0.6/1kV systems, it operates reliably across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +90°C) and is suitable for both fixed and dynamic marine installations.

Approved under IEC 60092 and certified by major classification societies ABS, MGCG cable is ideal for shipboard power systems, offshore platforms, and naval vessels where fire safety and chemical resistance are critical. The “MGCG” designation typically indicates a manufacturer-specific formulation optimized for marine environments, though exact specifications should be verified against technical datasheets for compliance with project requirements.

MGCG Marine Cable Construction

CONDUCTOR: Electrolytic, stranded, annealed copper wire. IEC 60228 Class 2 (Class 5 and/or tinned on request).

INSULATION: HF HEPR compound.

BEDDING: Rubber.

SCREEN: Electrolytic copper braided screen (90% coverage). MGCG (EMC) type is wrapped by a copper tape in addition to this braided screen (100% coverage).

OUTER SHEATH: Chloroprene-based flame retardant, UV resistant, oil resistant black outer jacket (SE1).
